Quaid-e-Azam's Message

Scouting can play a very vital role in forming the character of our youth, Promoting their physical, mental, and spiritual development, and making them well-disciplined, useful, and good citizens.

We are living in a far from perfect world . Despite the progress of civilization, the law of the jungle, unfortunately, still prevails. Might is considered right and the strong do not refrain from exploiting the weak. Self-advancement, greed, and lust for power sway the conduct of the individuals, like that of nations.

If we are to build a safer, cleaner, and happier world, let us start with the individual, catch him young and inculcate in him the Scout motto of service before self and purity in thought, word, and deed. If our young people learn to befriend all, help other people at all times and subordinate personal interests to the welfare of others, eschew violence of thought, word, and action. I am sanguine that the attainment of universal brotherhood will be possible and within our reach. I wish you godspeed.

Our History

HISTORY OF BUTURAB SCOUTS GROUP

After the independence of our beloved country Pakistan, it was felt that there must be an organization of social workers who reserve themselves to do selfless service for the human being. As understood only a scouting organization was found fit for this noble cause. Further, the existence of an organization for community service was also felt necessary especially for making the exemplary arrangements during the holy month of Moharram and other occasions.

In 1952 an organization was established in Karachi in the name of “Idara-e-Ghulaman-e-Buturab under the zeer separasti of Molana Qibla o Kaaba Mujtahid late Ali Naqi with the companion late Mukhtar Zaidi, late Zulfiqar Zaidi, late Aal-e-Ali, late Farhat Rizvi, Nazre Hasan, and few others. In its other activities, a group was organized under the name
of “Buturab Razakar”. In the beginning in other social services, the main function of Buturab Razakar was to coordinate the Shia community during the Moharram and other religious events.

In 1958 the Marshal law administrator ban all the Uniform organizations except the Police, Army, and Scouts so Buturab Razakar was affiliated with the Boy Scout Association with the name of “Buturab Scouts Group Pakistan”. Nowadays two-component bodies working under the supervision of “Idara-e-Ghulaman-e-Buturab,

1) Buturab Scouts Control Committee
2) Buturab Masjid O Imam Bargah Trust

BSCC has Ten (10) members while Mr. S. Javeed Raza Naqvi is the Chairman of BSCC. All the members have been elected from the General body meeting which occurred every year.

Buturab Scouts has members of all three branches of the scouting i.e. Shaheen, Scouting, and Rovering they have attended various training camps organized by PBSA and KOD in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and many have obtained the highest degree of scouting from barras camp, Masher, Abbottabad. The present membership is about six hundred (600). They are divided into four districts i.e. Central, East, North, and South. Buturab Scouts Group Control Committee looks after the activities of the scouts at all events.

In 2001 a subsidiary body was established under the supervision of the Chairman of BSCC under the name of Advisory Council at present Mr. Saeed Haider Zaidi is Convener. It has twelve (12) members of senior Buturab Scouts, among them eight (8) are lifetime members. The main function of this council is to finalize the BSCC through the election. This council also coordinates with BSCC to control/provide the different facilities to the Scouts.

It is appreciable that many of the senior members of Buturab Scouts have been selected for the Army. While few are performing important duties in PBSA and KOD. Among them, Late Zulfiqar Husain Zaidi was the Assistant Commissioner in PBSA District North Karachi and was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award and Pride of Performance. Mr. Nazre Hasan was also Assistant Commissioner in PBSA District North Karachi, awarded Life Time Achievement Award, Pride of Performance, and Medal of Merit. Mr. Abbas Ali is Leader Trainer in PBSA.
